In the Boxing Ring with Brown Sugar

In a clear, loud, ring announcer voice:

“Introducing: Fighting out of the red corner we have Brown Sugar, from The Tropics, weighing in at 1 lb. (2.2 Kilos), Fighting out of the blue corner we have ________(insert your name here), from somewhere, world, weighing in at (we can exclude this ha!)”

Brown sugar is delicious, deep in flavor and has a cozy feeling to it; that is if you can get it out of the package!

Insert DJ disk screeching noise.

If you live in a less humid area of the world your Brown sugar can be a real pain. It becomes a compact rock, which for years I would fight with different weapons (hammers, knives, whatever was close) just pleading to get it loose.
Fight no more! I finally figured it out!

Here’s what you do:

Take a piece of orange or mandarin (or really any citrus fruit) peal, I would say no more than the size of the amount when you put the tip of your index finger to the tip of your thumb.
Place in box or container.
Let sit until… it’s beautifully soft!
No sweat, no anger issues, just rich brown sugar, in no time!
