How to Remove Wax from a Tablecloth

The dinner party went perfect: the food came out delicious, the company amazing and fun, the décor beautiful; there was enough booze and ice the whole night. Once everyone leaves you are left with the evidence: clean up. You place all the dishes in on the kitchen counter and walk over to blow out the candles, lean over, and then as you smile with the night playing over again in your mind, you look down at the table cloth and see that your beautiful candle lit center piece has dripped all over your tablecloth.

Ekkk! How the hell….
Relax.. there is a solution!

If it is not an antique (which in that case just take it to the dry cleaners) take your tablecloth and place it in the freezer for at least an hour. Take it out and with a spoon gently scrape off the wax.

If it didn’t come off completely, place a piece of parchment paper over your ironing board, flip over the tablecloth so the wax side is facing the parchment paper lined ironing board and iron it. The wax will melt into the parchment paper and now you can carry on with your life.
